Frequently Asked Questions
Please click on any of the questions, below, that you would like answered:
What will happen ?
Your therapist will explain at the beginning of each session what will happen during the session; it will also be explained at your free initial consultation.
What is it like being hypnotised ?
Everyone experiences hypnosis differently, but you will feel completely relaxed and very calm. Some people have reported a ‘floaty’ feeling, others have felt very heavy. Depending on how deeply you go into hypnosis, you will hear everything the therapist says. It is like being consciously asleep.
Can I be made to do something I do not want to ?
No. If a hypnotherapist was to try to put a suggestion in that you found repugnant, you would merely wake up from trance. All MindMend clients are protected by the UK Hypnotherapy Code of Ethics and Conduct, our professional body.
Will I have a bad ‘trip’ or see things that will upset me ?
No. Every client so far has reported feeling wonderful and relaxed after being treated at MindMend. Every hypnotherapist is highly skilled, and if something is upsetting you, you can merely push it away with the power of your mind.
Are there any side effects ?
No. All the suggestions used to help you change will be agreed beforehand. The only side effect is that you will feel happy, strong, and relaxed.
Is it better to be in a group or to come for a private session ?
Every client is different, with different needs. During your free consultation we can discuss the options with you.
What if I cannot afford all the sessions I need ?
At MindMend we try to accommodate every need as best we can. At your free consultation we will outline how many sessions you will need, which can be reviewed on an individual basis. If you are worried about being able to pay, please contact us and we will try to work out the best solution we can.
